 | | Celebrating Faithful God Global Missions Emphasis Month Week Four | | | | To view or download the Global Missions Month Video for Week Four, click the image above. | We are continuing to celebrate the month of March, traditionally known throughout the Church of God of Prophecy as World Mission Drive. This missions emphasis effort provides one of two annual opportunities in which to invest in Mission Giving in support of our national leaders and mission nations. This week we look to an amazing opportunity for ministry to needy children. James 1:27 instructs us, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after ORPHANS and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Recent studies indicate that over 200 million children in developing countries under the age of five suffer from hunger, disease, and malnutrition. At least one-third of the world's children are touched by poverty. Every day, nearly 35,000 of them die. Imagine how difficult it must be for a little child to live constantly in hunger and under threat of disease. The One Child Fund ministry is designed to reach these children in the name of Jesus! This ministry continues to supply monthly orphanage support, education opportunities, construction efforts, and holiday celebrations to our children in the nations of Belarus, Bulgaria, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Mali, Myanmar, Nepal, Paraguay, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Uganda, and Ukraine.
