The Love of God

What a lovely Valentine Banquet we had! Thanks to Neal and Sondra and Beth and those who went all out to make the church fellowship hall such a pretty place for everyone to gather. The lights, the food and decorations were really something to see and it looked like it was a big success. The church presented Neal and Sondra with matching teeshirts~thanks again! Also, Brother Smith had on a great~looking gold tie which was given to him from the folks over at Crestwood. He is appreciated for his care and leadership everywhere people know him. We are kinda' proud to have such a wonderful pastor.

We are looking forward to Saturday morning when the Angelfood boxes will be picked up. Our Ladies' Ministry will have a table set up and will be offering some handcrafted items and some information about what we are planning to accomplish~together. We welcome you to check us out and come join in the fun. Hope to see you there!! Everybody has some kind of ability and good ideas and we can surely use you.

"Satan trembles when he sees
the weakest saint upon his knees."

None of us are in any way perfect but we have to lean on the Lord for strength and help in facing the problems of everyday life. "What a Friend we have in Jesus" is more than a title to a favorite hymn. We have the blessed priviledge of bringing our burdens to the mercy seat and calling upon the God of the Universe to help us, right here and right now. WOW!! What a precious friend Jesus is. There is nothing He doesn't already know about us, good or bad, and He loves us still.

God is Good~All the Time

Our Sunday night services are filled with singing and wonderfully annointed preaching. Bro. Smith sang "Put your trust in the Lord", Emily did "My God is mighty to save, He can move the mountains, shine the light out, let the whole world see..." Thank you, Emmy for your talent and how you are using it to shine a light in this dark world. All the young people in our church are so special and we love them all!

The way we pray is vitally important. Many nowadays pray to a 'god' but they might not be talking to the Lord God Jehovah. Have you seen on the news how Obama said he depends on his 'faith'? I wish he would be a little more specific. Have you heard him refer to our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus? I just wish and pray that will happen, and it can.

This is just a small portion of the sermon Sunday night.

In John 16:23-27, Jesus told His disciples the proper way to come to the Throne of God. This is so very important: Pray to the Father IN THE NAME OF JESUS! Up to now, you haven't asked in the name that is above all other names. That will get the Lord's attention. We are the children of God, believers in Christ, and the devil wants to hinder our prayers because he knows we have been given the promise of power when we pray in His mighty name. That simply terrifies Satan, and for good reason, so he tries everything he can to hinder our prayers and put doubt in our hearts. We have to believe and not doubt.

Jesus said we are to pray the Lord of the Harvest that He would send forth laborers to bring in the harvest. How often do we pray "Lord, raise up somebody to come to our lost loved ones and win them to Christ". John 15:16 says that we are chosen by God and we are ordained to go and bring forth fruit...and we can ask of the Father in my (Jesus') name and He will give it to us. We are enabled to do this work only because we are connected to the True Vine. Every part of the Body of Christ is important, functional, operational. Examble of this is the way a broken branch will keep on growing because it gets it's strength from the tree, the source.

Isaiah 59:19 ....when the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
When tribulation comes, people of God comes against the problem. What is a standard? It's like side rails on a pickup truck. It encloses and protects. The Holy Spirit builds a standard to keep Satan away. Is. 54:17 gives us reassurance when it says, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Praise the Lord!!! What kind of weapons are these, do you wonder? Poverty? Keep on tithing, taking the Lord at His Word: Malachi 3:10. Sickness? Keep standing firm in the truth of Jesus. Spirit of spiritual death on churches? God help us not to dry up, but keep strong through the Word of God, read John 8:31. "If you continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed". To continue means that you have already started, and going in the right direction, staying and standing on God's Holy Word.

God says to His children:
Are you lonesome? Breathe out My name. Come to Me and I will be your friend.
Are you sick? Come to Me for healing.
Are you left out of things? Feeling rejected and pushed aside? Come home to Me.

What's Coming Up @ WCFC

We are looking forward to our Annual Valentine's Day Banquet next Sunday @ 5pm. It will be held in the church fellowship hall and everyone's welcome! The ladies are preparing a dinner of spaghetti, lasagna, salad, bread, drinks, and of course, DESSERTS!!! Sondra Sandlin is in charge of this event and we know it will be a good time for everyone in the church. Thank you, Sondra, and all the other women who do such a great job of organizing these events.

Bro. Smith gave us another wonderful sermon Sunday morning and also the night service. The Love of God-only the Father can restore to His children what the enemy has taken away. It was so good to see Margi and Allen back at church after he had open heart surgery. The Lord truly did a miraculous job of restoration for that precious couple, not only physically, but in their marriage. Margi thanked the church for the love and support during the time in the hospital, but she also testified about how the Lord had restored their lives. They had been separated before, but God had mended not only their hearts but their home and life together. It was so awesome to hear those words, knowing what He does for others, He'll do for you. Praise the Lord! As Bro. Todd says, I was in a mess and the Lord just fixed it. Simple as that.

We need to work on our relationship with Jesus. That gives us a better understanding of others. We as humans want to tear into anyone who mistreats us, but we should look to the Savior who forgives and forgets our sins. 1John 4:8 tells us that real love comes from God, because He is love. God is Light, Truth, Spirit, there is not even a shadow of darkness in the perfect love of God.

1-God loves His Son, Jesus. The world may say there are many ways to find God but we know Jesus is the Way, no man comes to the Father but by me.

2-God loves the believers. We are the apple of His eye, because we love His Son. When the Lord looks at us, He sees us covered by Jesus' blood. That love is bigger than any sin and reaches farther than we can imagine.

3-God loves the world. He loved us when we were unlovable. Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6

We were not saved to sit around and just be blessed all the time, God has a job for each of us, and we are on the battlefield for the Kingdom. We serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!! We have to attack our problems and trials with the very Word of God. He has given us the tools we need and we must use them to His glory.

"Lord, help me to do today what I will wish I had done when I stand in your presence".

A Note from Margi

Good news from Margi and Alan~they are home, she is back at work and they are planning to be back 'home' in church as soon as they can be. God blesses each one of us with each other! Speaking for myself, every person in WCFC is a special angel sent from Heaven. Aren't you glad to be part of the Body of Christ?

Margi sent in this little story to share with everyone.

They built a new church and people came from far and near to see it. Up on the roof a little nail heard the people praising everything but the nail! Nobody even knew he was there and he became jealous. "If I am insignificant, then nobody will miss me if I quit." So he released his hold and fell into the mud. The next night it rained and soon the roof began to leak. Everything inside was ruined. All because the little nail decided to quit. But what about the nail? It might have been obscure but it was useful. So, the moral of this story is:

EVERY MEMBER IS IMPORTANT TO THE CHURCH!!!

You may feel like the nail sometimes, but your absence is felt. When you are not present for worship, in some way, the Body of Christ hurts.

The whole church has been really missing Margi and Alan lately, but we are rejoicing that his surgery turned out so well.
