It all begins with a vision

As church service began Sunday morning, Bro. Smith told about Sondra Sandlin's brother who had storm damage from Saturday, so that's why she and Neal had to be out of town. There was a good croud at church and we had some visitors also. This is always a welcome sight. Keep in mind the upcoming camping and fishing trip for the young people. Neal and Todd are very talented in this area we are told. Also, we sure enjoyed having the state overseer, Bro. and Mrs. Jones with us this Sunday.

Revival is coming up May 19-22. Bro. John Paul Benning is the evangelist so we should be much in prayer for revival-we all need a touch from the Lord.

Angelfood orders will end for May on the 12th, with pickup of boxes on 22nd.

Camping season at Camp Booth is right around the corner. The men's retreat will be May 21-22, and the Women's Retreat will be May 14-15.

Proverbs 29:18 says, where there is no vision, the people perish. Our very faith, rights, and freedoms are being threatened. Lord, help Your people to wake up and realize what is happening in our blessed land of America. All God's plans begin with a vision. It started with Jesus some 2,000 years ago. God help us to be a sponge to soak up the goodness, and a sieve to drain away all the evil.

A personal vision requires four things:
1-Seek God
2-Trust God
3-Be Persistant
4-Be Passionate

2 Chron. 7:14 begins...If My people who are called by My name....
Line up with the Word thru' Christ, know you have the authority and the command of God to go and tell others of Jesus. He called us to this assignment. We know it is His will that none should perish. We must, MUST, trust God. All things are possible with God. Learn to trust Him with everything. Satan tells you that it is too hard, too big, too much, but just think that if you do right, God will move. Satan might throw obstacles in your way, but the harvest is at the END of this work. Don't stop, and don't give up. We as humans are prone to disappointment and want to "cop out". Don't help the devil do his job.

Sometimes the Lord leads us to the wilderness for a reason, to test and try us. If He does that, it must mean He trusts us with the temptation, to see that we will come through it and come out stronger on the other side. None of us want the battle, we didn't ask for it, and didn't do anything to deserve having to even go through tough times. It is hard for a Christian to make it without the Word, studying the Bible and being with other believers. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us through the written Word of God. The Lord wants us to come to Him for wisdom and guidance for the decisions we all have to make in life. People have always craved power, just like Nimrod of old. Satan tempts today the same way he did then. Some will sell their souls for the lure of power. Don't give in to that, instead, give in to God and He will make a way and conquer temptation through the Word.

Romans 8:37 reminds us we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us!!!

Look What the Lord Has Done

It is really amazing to see the hand of God at work. A few of us were able to attend the monthly meeting of Marion County Right to Life at the home of Marcus and Betty McDonald Tuesday night. They are so knowledgeable and dedicated to this cause, and work toward the goal of stopping abortion. We need to help in any way possible. There is alot of information available and they can answer any of your questions. The meeting was followed by a time of fellowship with new as well as old friends. Betty always cooks a fine meal for us-what a treat and what a lovely couple they are!!

Our Ladies' Ministries, Sisters of the Heart, is now on Facebook! Susan set up a page for the group two weeks ago, and we have several members online, with more joining everyday. Please join too, and remember, you are not required to attend the meetings to be a member. So many women have to work nowadays, but you can still belong. We have had some folks who have given us good ideas and made suggestions, or given fabric or supplies. Your input is very welcome. The girls have been hard at work sewing and crocheting items and we have plans for more projects in the future. We have a newsletter now that sums up what's been going on since February. Every one of these women has talent and is using it for the Lord. We are going to post some pictures of items that have been made on the church blog as soon as possible. One of the sweetest things are the little clothes and blankets for preemies. Beverly has been making crocheted caps for the babies and they are adorable! We plan on making gowns, shirts and tiny quilts for them too. Susan will deliver these things to UAB. She has also mentioned doing a scrapbook for our group.

Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow!

gardening time

What’s in your Garden?

To Start Your Garden, You should
Plant four rows of
SQUASH
Squash gossip
Squash indifference
Squash grumbling
Squash selfishness
Plant three rows of
PEAS
Peas of mind
Peas of heart
Peas of soul
Plant three row of
TURNIPS
Turnip for meetings
Turnip for service
Turnip to help one another
And no garden would be complete without
LETTUCE
Lettuce be faithful
Lettuce be kind
Lettuce be obedient
Lettuce really love one another

Thanks for this gardening tip goes out to Betty and Marc McDonald. We really appreciate you both for all you do, and what a welcome sight when you visit!

Celebrate Jesus!!!

Announcements:

The State Overseer, Bro. Jones, will be here on April 25, 2010. Please make your plans to be here that day.

Angelfood Pickup Day will be on the 24th, and the folks will begin to take the boxes at 9am that Saturday morning. If you can assist, please be here at the church by 8 or 8:30 to get organized. It is a big job and a wonderul ministry. Since Carol and Rick are gone on vacation, we realize how valuable they are, and we will be so glad to see them return home. Again, thanks to the Girl Scouts and to the volunteers for all the help, Jan and Joan Watkins are special ladies.

If you've not purchased a WCFC teeshirt, see Margi while there is still a choice of sizes. They are only $10.

It's Spring. The time to celebrate Jesus' victory over death and His ascention to Heaven. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father but He left something behind-the Holy Spirit. This was not the last goodbye however. Read Acts 1:6-11. The disciples had spent 40 days with Jesus after He arose from the dead, and now He was taken up to Heaven. We humans are impatient, but the Lord is not. We must learn to rely on God, trust in Him, have faith and show faith in the Lord. Acts 1:1 tells that Jesus began to do and teach, and it is an unfinished task. We are asked to pick up and work because as Christ told us in John 9:4....the night comes when no man can work. That is a quote and direct warning from Jesus Himself. After the Rapture, who will preach? Angels! and they will be saying: Get Saved!!!! Men's hearts get so hard, they will not repent, yet the Gospel cannot be stopped and it is fool-proof. Jesus is all we need.

Do you understand that God loves you? So many people have the image of a vengeful, condemning, hateful God, ready to zap you when you do wrong, just out to get you. But He is a real friend, the best friend anyone could ever have and one you can talk to about anything. He died a gruesome, agonizing, undeserved, cruel for a world that hated Him. Such love can no man's heart understand. Our love is limited, but the love of the Father is unlimited. Let us allow our light to shine through our Lord Jesus.

"This is and has been the Father's work from the beginning-to bring us into the home of His heart".
