On August 30, we were expecting the ladies from Teen Challenge, but at the last minute, their escort/leader was unable to attend, so hopefully, we can schedule them a little later on. There might have been drenching rain outside, but there was "Son-Light" here at WCFC with great singing and preaching and a fantastic dinner following. If you missed that day, you missed a blessing! Bro. Dewayne sang "I can't even walk without You holding my hand......down on my knees is where I learned how to stand". Annointed music.
The Message today was on our so-called "drug of choice". It may not necessarily be a drug or cigarette or bottle that is between you and a closer walk with God. 2 Cor. 7:1 tells us to "cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit" At some point, we need to realize our need for Jesus to help us cleanse ourselves, and to live to glorify the Lord.
1- We must CONFESS our sins to Jesus, remembering 1 John 1:9. God is not a liar, and He will keep His Word~you can stake your very life on that promise!
2- We must have FAITH in the Lord to help us with whatever cravings or struggles are facing us in life. 1 John 4:4 "greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world." Talk to that addiction, that problem, that mountain, that warfare, that impossible situation, THEN you can be an overcomer.
Sunday night service was a good one too. Bro. Todd sang "You're all I want, All I've ever needed." Emily and Mollie sang "Jesus, Lover of my Soul". Bro. Smith sang a song he wrote called "He is God, He moves me still".
The message on Sunday night was how we are to bear fruit as is pleasing to the Lord. Every branch that does not bear fruit is cut out and cast away. We need to take care to 'weed out' our lives with the Word. The Bible can keep us clean and refreshed. Church can be cleansing for each of us, helping to release the bad things that strangle us and keep us from producing good fruit. Without Jesus, we can do nothing and we ARE nothing. It's as simple as that~take out the doubt and fear, replace it with the Word!
