Prayer Request

Sunday afternoon Bro. Travis Ray Carter was out and was about to turn into his daughter's driveway when he accidently hit the gas pedal and went into the canal on Foothill Road. The Lord was with him because it is about a 20' to 25' dropoff down to the water. He is going to be alright but is banged up pretty bad with cuts and bruises. He just turned 85 years old this month. Please be in prayer for him. They wanted to keep him in the hospital overnight and hopefully he can come home in a day or so.

UPDATE

Good Morning!

Our Revival was wonderful~every night of it! Many were touched by the Mighty Hand of the Almighty during this time of annointing. We owe a great debt of thanks to Bro. Nick McSpadden and his precious family for touching our hearts with singing, preaching, praying, and helping bring a true revival to our church. That doesn't mean we don't need to pray continually for the Lord to search our hearts and draw us ever closer to Jesus. We have to be vigilant and on guard, knowing we have an enemy who is constantly going to and fro on the Earth seeking whom he may devour. That's a promise you can take to the bank! But remember what Jesus told us, "Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good" Romans 12:21 Thanks be to God who has already defeated the enemy. Come on, let's fight the good fight, not fainting when the Cross gets heavy and the battle fierce.

A few years ago, I was going through (it's always THROUGH trials, not around them) a hard time and the Lord gave me a scripture I had read dozens of times, but He made the words jump out of the page. Hebrews 12:1-3. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the JOY set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." It just hit me, HARD, that joy was US, it was me and you!!! He did it for us~and if He could endure all that untold suffering, can't we simply live for Him and love Him? Think of it~WE ARE HIS JOY!!!!!

The kids did a great job with their dramas and we were so blessed by seeing the young folks taking part~makes us older ones feel like we are truly seeing the Lord raising up a new generation of leaders. Praise God!!!! We got to meet brothers and sisters in Christ from other towns and some local churches and what a blessing that was. Our Pastor is beloved by many, many wonderful Christians all over. We appreciate Bro. Smith and his family, but probably not nearly enough, because this man is outstanding in his knowledge of the Bible, and for his love for people. We are blessed to be able to be lead by such a wonderful Shepherd of the Body of Christ. Bro. Nick mentioned a song he loves so much: "Broken, spilled, and poured out at His feet". That is where we should be longing to be~Noone will ever love you like Jesus. Amen.

Revival pictures 08-05-09

We thank God for a wonderful time in the Lord during our Revival services withe Brother Nick & Sister Shirley McSpaddin Sunday August 2-5, 2009. One confirmed experience of salvation, three sanctified/filled with the Holy Spirit, one healed , and two deliverances. Many people were refreshed & renewed in the Lord. The alters were filled every night with people. God's Spirit was heavy. Continue to pray for the church at Winfield and Brother Nick and Shirley's ministry. We would like to thank everyone for their support during this revival.

Revival @ WCFC

The revival began this Sunday with Bro. Nick McSpadden and will continue through Wednesday night.
This Sunday morning just before the service started, Neal Sandlin went up front to thank the church for standing with them and praying during the illness and passing of his dad, Harold, on July 30. Neal told about when Harold suddenly opened his eyes and was just looking around with JOY at "something wonderful". We can only guess that maybe he was getting his first look at that land we call Beulah. One day each of us will be at the end of life as we know it here on earth. For now, all we have is the eye-witness testimony of those who have been permitted to peek into that homeland and have come back here to tell others. We should never EVER question the experiences of His saints. The Lord has a reason for everything and we don't have a right to dismiss or second-guess the work of the Holy Spirit. Neal also (tho' he spoke through his tears) thanked Ray Carter who had told of the day Harold got down on the floor to get his heart right with God and to be ready if the Lord were to take him on home.) That is a great relief and a blessing to a whole family, because we are told by the Apostle Paul in 1 Thess. 4:13....that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.

Bro. McSpadden started the Revival off with a powerful message "Never Underestimate the Mercy of God"

God is a God of Judgment and Mercy, His character never changes. We need to recognize that we are a needy people-we so need the Lord's mercy everyday. When we truly TRUST God, He will show up for us. Jesus is showing us that we need to take to heart the story of the woman with the daughter who was vexed with a devil in Matthew 15:22-28.

This woman:
1- is persistent and asks for mercy. We need to follow her example. She only cared about the great need for her daughter's deliverance, saying, 'I'll be satisfied with just a little crumb'.

2- has a merciful heart. If your need is great enough, your dignity won't keep you from getting what you need.

3- she knew her position, and she knew HIS position. Mercy connects you to the miraculous.

The Lord showed up MIGHTILY during our Sunday services. His presence could be felt and seen. What a sweet sweet spirit in this place. Lord, help us to never be satisfied with the 'everyday' and be always hungry and thirsty for more. More of Jesus and His Amazing Love!
