Pie in the Face Day

Today, we ended the Pie in the Face fundraiser that has been going on this month. There were two buckets placed at the front of the church, one with Sister Joan's name, and the other with Brother Dewayne's name. Whoever got the most money in their bucket got to pie the other in the face! The winner was announced today, and Sister Joan got to pie Brother Dewayne in the face! The reason for the fundraiser was revealed today that the money will be given to Brother and Sister Smith to help cover travel expenses to the International Assembly in Orlando next month. Sister Joan had a total of $248.36 and Brother Dewayne had $219.78. The total amount raised was $468.14!

Youth service

We will be having a youth service Saturday, June 28, at the church from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm. We will be having a cookout, games, and fireworks. Call or text Brother Wesley Hallman at 205-275-4475 for more information or for a ride.

Camp

Sara and I went to Camp Boothe for Discovery Camp last week. There were about 200 children there! Breanna, Brady, and Zoe went to Senior Camp the week before, and the week before that, Emily went to Collegiate Camp. Caroline is there this week for Pee Wee Camp. How blessed we are to have Camp Boothe and children that love to seek God.

Youth Car Wash

The youth had a car wash Saturday, June 21, at Auto Zone from 7 am until 1 pm to raise money for the youth fund. Everyone worked hard and had a good time. The total amount raised was $262.00! Thanks to everyone who came out to support the youth!

My youngest son, Chandler, doesn't care much for sports. His brothers play just about every sport available to them, but Chandler has only tried a few. A few years ago, he decided to play a sport that neither one of my other sons had ever played, floor hockey. He was very excited about the opportunity to play something different and I believe that somehow he hoped to identify himself a little more through it. Hotels are filling up and thousands are registering for this incredible week. Here are some items to remember:  Registration: If you haven't yet registered, you can do that here, even if you are not booking a room. The registration process will help in planning future events.  Workshops: Twenty-six workshop sessions will be held on Thursday, July 31 on a variety of subjects, including missions, leadership development, education and more. Browse the topics and begin planning today.  Mission Activities: A highlight of every Assembly is mission-oriented activities such as the Mission Encounter, being held Friday afternoon, and the Mission Breakfast, held on Saturday morning. Admission to the Encounter is free. Tickets for the breakfast can be purchased here.  BREAKOUT Youth Assembly: Youth can take part in an exciting three days of training and celebration in the Breakout Youth Assembly, happening Thursday through Saturday. Activities will include breakout sessions, a basketball tournament, a youth mission team experience in Orlando and a BREAKOUT celebration Saturday night with recording artists Seth and Nirva Ready (TobyMac's DiverseCity band) and Youth Ministries Co-Director Trevor Reid. Upcoming Youth Activities

We will be having a car wash on Saturday, June 21, at Auto Zone in Winfield from 7:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. as a fundraiser for our youth to attend camp. We will also be having a youth service at the church on Saturday, June 28, beginning at 5:00 P.M. There will be food, fun, and fireworks! Everyone welcome!
