This past Sunday was a wonderful day of worship and seeing the Holy Spirit alive and working in our midst. Bro. Smith asked Janice McDaniel to give her testimony of when she was diagnosed with cancer but chose to believe the report of the Lord and not the report of man. She stood on God's promises and He healed her! Praise the Lord, He is worthy of all praise! During her testimony, Janice gave a word of knowledge to another man facing a bad report too. The Lord is mighty and worthy of praise and honor.
In the Sunday night service Ronnie Cockrell gave a testimony to the church about how the angel of the Lord had protected him just this week while on the road. He was in a very dangerous area with alot of drug and prostitution going on there, and was anxious to get away, but had to cross the highway to go back to the truck. A black man approached him and told him that he'd overheard some other black men talking about robbing him, and offered to walk him back to his truck. He was able to get away in safety. Bro. Smith reminded us that the Bible tells us there are times in our lives that we 'entertain angels unawares'. What a reminder that God is always near and involved in His children's lives. Ronnie and I pray every time he leaves the house, and his words are that the Lord will "keep him safe and everyone around him safe". Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and your mercy.

FACING THE GIANTS
We are not given the warning in scripture (Eph 6:12) that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of Satan for no reason. We have a very real and scheming enemy. His name is Lucifer, and he has a plan to wreck the lives and influence of every believer in Christ. He will stop at nothing to bring us down and destroy every good thing in our lives.
It is essential that we are fed the Word of God, and we know we have only a few hours a week that we can hear the Gospel preached in a local church. If you were to leave this life, would you know for sure that you would be in Heaven with the Lord? The only way to know that is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ~only in Him can we find real contentment.
Many people today believe that they can depend on their "good works" to get them there. Isaiah 64:6 paints a totally different picture~the true reality that without the saving grace of our Lord Jesus who was and is the only substitute for our sin~we have no chance to save ourselves. "Religion" changes the outside of a person, but relationship with Jesus changes the inside. Since we can't get rid of these sins, there has to be another way out. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:10 "There is none righteous, no, not one" and Psalms 103:12 says that as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our sins from us. That's good news!
As Christ was bleeding and dying on that cross, He was asking the Father to forgive them, He was thinking of mankind, lost in this horrible condition, sin, and with no way out, except by the very blood of the Savior. Such love for all of us! He loved us before we even knew Him, even while we hated Him. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. Thank you, Lord, for Your great heart of love.

Snow...AGAIN?
Bro. Smith has decided not to risk getting anyone out tonight for Wednesday night service since they are predicting more snow this afternoon. Just in case you haven't seen the weather, it is supposed to start some time after lunch and into tonight.
Just be safe and pray for the safety of those who must travel or be on the roads to make a living. They can be very treacherous.

He gives power!
Matt 10:1...Jesus gave His disciples POWER against unclean spirits. We are not born worthy, when God calls us, Jesus cleanses us and fills us with His righteousness. God wants to use what we have~will you release it?
Moses' rod was used in the Old Testament. The boy's lunch was used to feed the crowd in the New Testament. Remember that story? When all the people had eaten there was 12 baskets leftover.
Use what you have and give it to the Lord~He will bless you for it. We need to work for the Kingdom, work, as Jesus said, while it is still day, for the night cometh when no man can work.
