As Bro. Smith has been telling us in the Sunday announcements, the General Assembly of the Church of God of Prophecy is taking place right now. We would all love to be there, but know for various reasons, many cannot make that trip. So, through the magic of the web, you can sit right down and join in as it is streaming live. Three clicks and you are there:
On the WCFC blog, click on the link on the left hand side for- cogop.org. Then click on "Assembly" then when it takes you to that page, that will take you to another page where you choose "English". It's just that simple! Check it out, and remember, you can come as you are, pajamas, house shoes, a cup of coffee and all!!
Enjoy!

Special Member
In our church family, every person involved is truly a gift of God. That is a fact we all are aware of, but at times, we just need to pay a little extra attention to one of His flock. That dear lady would be Carol Barton. Carol and Rick mean so much to everyone and are very well-loved. We have each been richly blessed by knowing dear Ms. Rosa who crossed that final bridge around this time last year. What a saint and prayer warrior she was and will be greatly missed. Carol, your family is a treasure we hold close to our hearts.
Carol's birthday is this month, the 31st. Please take the time to wish her a great birthday and tell her how much you care for her. To know what it means to be a "Sister of the Heart", just look at Sister Carol.
We love you much!
She send me some great thoughts in a personal email this week I'd like to share:
"God doesn't propose to judge a man until he is dead, so why should you?"
"Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous."
"Don't put a question mark where God has put a period."
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain,"
"You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him."
There is no greater treasure than a good friend.

Prayer Request
Ronnie Cockrell has requested we pray for his cousin, Doyle Cockrell, who lives near Decatur. He has had heart surgery and is back home, but is not doing very well. Please keep him in prayer, along with so many others who really need your support.
Thank God for the move of the Holy Spirit last Sunday night. There were decisions made and we love to see the altar full.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!
One Sunday morning an old cowboy entered a church just before services were to begin. Although the old man and his clothes were spotlessly clean, he wore jeans, a denim shirt and boots that were very worn and ragged. In his hand he carried a worn out old hat and an equally well~read Bible. The church he entered was in a very upscale and exclusive part of the city. It was the largest and most beautiful church the old cowboy had ever seen. The people of the congregation were all dressed with expensive clothes and jewelry.
As the cowboy took a seat, the others moved away from him. No one greeted, spoke to, or welcomed him. They were all appalled by his appearance and did not attempt to hide it. As the old cowboy was leaving the church, the preacher approached him and asked the cowboy to do him a favor: "Before you come back here again, have a talk with God and ask Him what He thinks would be appropriate attire for worship in church." The old cowboy assured the preacher he would.
The next Sunday, he showed back up for the services wearing the same ragged jeans, shirt, boots, and hat. Once again he was completely shunned and ignored. The preacher approached the cowboy and said, "I thought I asked you to speak to God before you came back to our church."
"I did, " replied the old cowboy.
"If you spoke to God, what did He tell you the proper attire should be for worshiping here?" asked the preacher.
"Well, sir, God told me that He didn't have a clue what I should wear. He said He'd never been in this church."

The Knots Prayer
The Knots Prayer
Dear God:
Please untie the knots that are in my mind,
my heart and my life. Remove the have nots, the can nots
and the do nots that I have in my mind.
Erase the will nots, may nots,
might nots that may find a home in my heart.
Release me from the could nots, would nots,
and should nots that obstruct my life.
And most of all, Dear God:
I ask that You remove from my mind,
my heart and my life all of the 'am nots'
that I have allowed to hold me back,
especially the thought that I am not good enough.
Amen

HIGHWAY TO HELL
There is a steady flow of traffic, constantly going one way. Going to Hell. Are you caught up in the rush of traffic? So many millions of people are, and what can slow them down? Good News!! There are some roadblocks on the highway to hell. The final destinations are only 2: Eternal Life or Eternal Destruction. Which will it be for you?
In Bible times, there was an entrance in the wall of the Temple called the Eye of the Needle. The gate is low and narrow. A person wanting to enter that way had to first take off all the baggage from the camel and have it get down on it's knees to enter in. It is the same for us as we follow Jesus into the narrow way. We must take off all our baggage and be humble and contrite, hand the reins over to God's hand to lead us through. We can never go in with a haughty, proud and willful spirit.
People try to devise other ways of getting to Heaven. The way of the world, the easy way, the way without going through Jesus Christ. Jesus told us that He is the Way and we must bow the knee to Him, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, submit to the Savior. He alone can lead us home-there simply is no other way.
What are the roadblocks?
1-The Bible will get you off the road that leads to destruction! Read it, for it gives the Words of Life!
2-The Church is a place to come to for repentance, to be in the house of the Lord where the Holy Spirit may draw men to God.
3-Godly friends will care about you, pray for you, witness to you, desire to see you avoid Hell.
4-The Cross, that Old Rugged Cross, will hinder you from slipping away and into a devil's Hell. The very picture of the Cross gives hope. The VERTICAL beam represents God coming down to be equal to man and offer a way of escape. The HORIZONTAL beam represents man reaching to man-friends loving other people and having a desire to see you saved.
5-The Holy Spirit is necessary to stop you from going on to hell. The Spirit compels and convicts you to come to the Father and go on the right road. He seizes the heart of man to bring them to Christ.

Prayer Requests and Praise Reports
With a small congregation like WCFC, each family may experience a range of highs and lows. But that's what makes us all a part of the Body of Christ. We are to lift each other up when we're down and celebrate when we're up.
We are all anxious to welcome Sister Deb Banta back to church to be with us as soon as she is able. There is a call on her life to spread the Gospel, and an empty space where she should be with our church family. She isn't able to be back to her normal activity and function just yet, but Deb, we love and miss you soooo much. More than you will ever know. Please continue to pray for this dear saint.
Ronnie and I want to thank the church family who got together a much-needed gift while he has been off with the shoulder surgery. It is real hard for Ronnie to accept help, probably due to pride, but he will tell you the Lord has given him a new heart, a more understanding heart. When you learn how to recieve in the name of the Lord, it makes you want to help others also.
Margi and Allan Edge had wonderful news about his disability case. He got it through without having to use a lawyer. THAT is a miracle, for sure! We are so glad to see you up and going, and we love all of your family so much. It would be nice if Jan could be at church more, but remember we miss you.
Pray for Rick and Carol as they do the Angelfood Ministries each month. It is an enormous task, and if you don't think so, just come and help out on pickup Saturdays.
We all love our Pastor and his precious family, but do you stop to really thank God for giving us this wonderful man of God? I know I am guilty of taking for granted the time of study and preparation Bro. Smith puts into each Bible Study or sermon he delivers to us. Few of us could imagine the work and sacrifice that's poured into our lives. Thank God for blessing us with a faithful, annointed, and dedicated pastor.
Ray and Melba Mann got a special 'healing blessing' for Ray. His health problem was taken care of and he didn't have to go into the hospital after all. Praise the Lord, He is good!
There are many going through hard times that I don't know about, but the Lord does. Call me if you have an announcement you'd like put into the blog.
